The ultimate aim of this study is to provide HIV estimate and projection for Bangkokians in Thailand during 1985-2010. The projection suggested that the number of PWHAs would be about one–seventh of the total PWHAs in Thailand. Annual AIDS cases and AIDS deaths would be approximately 7,000 per year. Since AIDS kills adults in their reproductive age, there would be more than 400 HIV positive births each year. If ARV intervention providing for the infected pregnant women are fully implemented since the year 2001, those number would be decline by 50%. However, approximately 7,400 AIDS orphans are projected by 2000 and double increase approximately to 15,000 by 2010. The best approach to address the impact of AIDS for Bangkok remains primary prevention. Preventing young people from HIV infection, in effect save children lives from AIDS.
