Polymorphism Choice and Implications for Linkage Disequilibrium Estimation and Mapping

Nancy Cox, University of Chicago

The sheer volume of information that can now be generated for identifying genetic variation affecting complex phenotypes is overwhelming. I will highlight some novel approaches for identifying genetic variation affecting complex phenotypes, with a focus on some of the design issues that are relevant in population studies. In particular, I will focus on approaches related than can be combined with simple association approaches to enhance the ability to distinguish signal from noise.
